The Atlanta Falcons named Raheem Morris head coach on Thursday.
It’s a bit of a homecoming for Morris, who was the interim coach of the Falcons in 2020. Morris most recently as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams for the past three seasons.
Morris has been an NFL coach for the better part of the 22 years. The 47 year-old Morris was the head coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-21 where he compiled a record of 17-31 with no playoff appearances. Add-in the 4-7 Falcons record of Morris has a record of 21-38.
Morris was a little bit of a surprise choice as the Falcons at two-highly publicized interviews with Bill Belichick.
