Legendary Alabama football coach will retire according to published reports.

Saban, 72 won six National Championships at Alabama and split a National Title at LSU is widely considered to be the one of the greatest coaches of the modern era.

Saban had an astonishing record of 201-29 in Tuscaloosa and a total of 292-71 in his 28 years of college coaching that included stops at Toledo, Michigan State and LSU before joining the Crimson Tide in 2007.

Saban briefly coached the Miami Dolphins for two years in 2005-2006 and had a record of 15-17.

Saban had Alabama in the College Football playoff against Michigan. The Tide lost 27-20 in an overtime thriller at The Rose Bowl.
