Pete Carroll Out as Seahawks Coach; Will Remain with Organization

Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks have mutually agreed to have Carroll step down as head coach of the team. Carroll, who was the oldest coach in the league at 72, will remain with the Seahawks Organization.

Carroll had a total of 18 years of head coaching in the NFL with the Patriots for four and the last 14 with the Seahawks compiled a record of 170-120-1 with 12 playoff appearances. Carroll led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title in 2013.

Carroll also coached USC for eight-years and winning the National Championship in 2004. The Trojans split the National title in 2003.
