Washington Nationals World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg has announced his retirement after battling injuries for the past several years.

Strasburg led the Nationals to the 2019 World Series and he won the MVP of the Fall Classic. He was the number-one overall pick of the the 2009 MLB Draft after being touted as one of the top Pitchers to come into professional baseball in years. Strasburg, a three-time All-Star, finished with a 113-62 record.
