Former Houston Texans and Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien will coach Boston College.

O’Brien, 54, just recently took the offensive coordinator job at Ohio State. Before that he held the same position with the New England Patriots and Alabama.

O’Brien coached Penn State for two-years to a record of 15-9. He resurrected the program form the Jerry Sandusky scandal. He then took the Texans job and coached them from 2014-2020 and had a record of 52-48 and had four playoff appearances.

O’Brien is replacing Jeff Hatley who took the Green Bay Packers Defensive Coordinator position.

This will be a homecoming for O’Brien as he was born in Dorchester and had three different stints with the Patriots.
