Patrick Mahomes willed his team all year, and on the biggest stage it was no exception as he led the Kansas City Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl and third and four years with a 25-22 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
With the 49ers taking the opening drive deep into Chiefs territory, Christian McCaffrey when he was hit by Pennel and Chanel.

With 14:48 left in the 2nd quarter, Jake Moody broke a Super Bowl Record by connecting on a 55 yard field goal to put the 49ers up 3-0.
With 12:50 left in the quarter, Mahomes hit Mecole Hardman with a 42 yard bomb down to the Chief 9. The very next play saw Pacheco fumble and Javon Hargrave recover it for the 49ers.
With the 49ers driving, Lajarious Sneed had a huge personal foul after a play that took the ball theo the Chiefs 21. Two plays later, the 49era scored the first touchdown on a double pass as Juwann Jennings hit Mccaffrey on an across the field screen pass and the running back scampered 21 yards for the touchdown. Moody’s extra point made it 10-0.
Harrison Butker put the Chiefs on the board with a 28-yard field goal with 20 seconds to go in the half.

On the opening drive of the second half, Pacheco fumbled a pitch but recovered for a 12 yard loss. Two plays later, Mahomes was picked off by Ji’Ayr Brown. The Chiefs were able to hold the 49ers, but a terrific punt by Mitch Wishnowsky pinned the Chiefs on the two yard-line.
Moody’s record did not last long as Butker lined a 57-yard field goal to make the score 10-6 with 5:01 to go in the third.
With 2:32 to go in third RayRay McCloud muffed a punt that hit a 49er and recovered by the Chiefs. On the ensuing play, Mahomes hit Marques Valdes Scantling for a 16 yard touchdown and the Chiefs went up 13-10.

McCaffrey was stopped on a third-and-two, but Purdy hit George Kittle for his first catch of they day for three yards to the 12 of Kansas city. Purdy then hit Jennings on a slant for a 10 yard touchdown. Moody’s extra point was blocked which made the score 16-13 with 11:22 to go.
Mahomes caught fire om the next drive as he hit Kelce twice and Justin Watson for first downs. That was followed by two runs by Pacheco the equaled 12 yards that set the Chiefs up for a first and goal from the four. The drive stalled as Hargrave sacked Mahomes at the six. Butker tied the game at 16 with a 24 tard field goal with 5:45 to go.
The 49ers drove the ball down the field and Moody drilled a 53-yarder with to put the 49ers back in front 19-16 with 1:54 to go.
Mahomes led the Chiefs past midfield and the hit Kelce for 22 yards with nine seconds left.
Butler then hit a 29 yard field goal to make it 19-19 with three seconds left.
We GO TO OVERTIME
The Chiefs thought they got a three and out on the opening series, but All-Pro Trent McDuffie was called for a holdimg. Purdy then hit Aiyuk and then MccCaffrey for 24 yards to set up at the Chiefs 26. Purdy then hit Juszczyk for 13 on a 2nd and 12. The drive stalled and Moody came in for a 27 yard-field goal that made it 22-19 with 7:22 left in the extra frame.
Mahomes was able to convert a fourth and one for eight yards. Mahones then hit Rashee Rice for 14 and third and six to the 49er 40. Mahomes scrambled for 14 to the 13 yard line. Mahomes then hit Hardman who was wide open for a three yard touchdown to win the Super Bowl
