After several months of silence, NASCAR icon Jimmie Johnson finally addressed the devastating tragedy that struck his family last summer.

In a recent interview on “Today,” the seven-time champion opened up about the loss of his in-laws and nephew, who were found dead in their Oklahoma home in June.

“First and foremost, thank you for the support,” Johnson said. “Friends and family, fans far and wide have been extremely supportive, and that’s helped us through this incredibly difficult time. We’re managing the best we can, and that’s really all you can do, so thank you for the support and the continued support.”

This terrible event shook the Johnson family to its core, and the NASCAR legend had not spoken publicly about it since sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram in July 2023.

Police believe Terry Janway shot and killed her husband Jack and 11-year-old Grandson Dalton Janway, before turning the gun on herself.
