National Championship head coach Jim Harbaugh is leaving University of Michigan to become coach of Los Angeles Chargers.
Harbaugh, who led the Wolverines to a perfect 15-0 season has flirted with returning to the NFL for the past several seasons, and was given a five-year deal with the Chargers.
The 60 year-old Harbaugh had a record of 86-25 at his Alma Matar and a total record of 144-52 which includes stops at San Diego and Stanford.
This will mark a return to the NFL for Harbaugh as he coach the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014 and compiled a 44-19-1 record over four seasons that included an appearance in the 2012 where he lost to his brother John’s Baltimore Ravens.
